Downloadable Versions!

The POWER Series of plug-ins focus on providing high quality musical instrument sounds with very low computer processing power requirements. POWERkits-dL offers the ability to pick and choose the drum kits that you want from our vast collection of drum kits.

Available as individual drum kit downloads, this instrument series offers the same sound quality as the original Larry Seyer Acoustic Drums library that used to require a dedicated computer and GigaStudio 3. Now available as a plugin that works in both stand alone mode and as a VST/RTAS plugin, and no longer requireing GigaStudio to function, our POWER Series provides the musician and producer with a sound palette of uncompromising quality while requiring very little processing power.

With the help of TASCAM's GVI plugin engine, this stand alone plugin provides the musician and producer with a sound palette that is second to none in terms of sound quality.

Start out with one drum kit and add additional drum kits as needed (only $20 per drum kit). Each time an additional drum kit is purchased and installed, you add more drumkits to your colletion. In other words, you purchase one plugin and each addition purchase increasing the number of drumkits available to you in the plugin.

All of your drums will be neatly organized and conveniently located within one simple and easy to use plugin.

They sound identical to our Signature Series Drums in every way.

These individual and complete drum kits are fully rendered versions of our incredible sounding drum kits from our Signature Series Drums collection.

Image These drum kits are fantastic for playing 'live' and for situations where your computer's horsepower is not quite up to the task of playing our other libraries.

Image Individual outputs are provided for each drum component group for separate treatment in your DAW or live house mixer.

Finally you can create sequenced drums that are indistinguishable from live performances!

How the library was designed:

The snare drum strike zones are mapped across an entire octave!

Each type of drum, with its respective positional 'Zones' and alternate striking methods, was assigned a unique region on the keyboard. For instance, a snare drum's strikes are mapped from E2 to E3 which correspond to the various physical positions at which Pat struck his actual snare drums.

Similar to the snare mapping described above, all of Pat's drums except for crash, bell, and splash cymbals were sampled with positional information which is preserved in the final instrument design. In addition to positional 'Zones', there are 16 velocities and various striker choices. The sound samples taken from each drum are mapped according to these layout regions.

Enhanced Drum Programming for that "real" feel:

  • Mod Wheel - On the snare drums and toms, the Mod Wheel and Key Switches control the type of strike from head strike to rimshot and rim-only strikes. It is also the MOD wheel that controls the announcer who tells you the name of the drum kit for each key pressed when you load any of the 'Audition' drum kits. (The Pitch Wheel does this also)
  • Pitch Wheel - On the hi-hats, the Pitch Wheel (along with key-switching) controls the positional 'Zones' where the hi-hat was struck by Pat.
  • Sustain Pedal - This switches between open and closed hi-hat in addition to key selection for multiple degrees of Hi Hat 'openness'.
Several years in the making

First we hooked up with a true drummer's drummer, Pat Masteloto (King Crimson, BOMO, Rembrandts, MrMister). Together we collected everything from a custom Joe Montieri 22" kick with Evans EQ1 heads to a 1970's Slingerland 6V" wood snare with Remo Ambassador heads and O-ring.

Using ultra-tweak preamps and mics, we then recorded custom GigaPulse (tm) rooms. Churches, hangars, living rooms, drum booths, resonant, dead, and 'dirty' rooms.

As you play from left to right on the keyboard, you hear samples taken from left to right on the snare drums.

Pick your strike zones!

Now you can add nuances never before possible. The drums were recorded using individual strike zones on the surface of each instrument to capture all the nuances of live drumming — and mapped them to individual keys.

Choose the tradition General MIDI (GM) layout for compatibility or the Optimal/EXpanded layout for complete control!
